I was listening to eight page story today and I decided to do a search on them. I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd comment anyway. As much as a band like eight page could have a groupie, I was it (me = dork). I followed them all over, seeing them play at Nick's, Espresso Yourself, the YAC at Claremont High (with Matt Nathanson and Sages of Memphis), and, sadly, their final show at the Roxy in LA in the summer of 95 (I think). The singer, Erin Jackson, and the guitarist/bassist, Johnny Joyner, left the band to do their own work as a duo called Bloom. As far as I know, that never went anywhere. What a shame. I hope that voice didn't go to waste. They have a demo/EP called Synesthesia from 1994. Here's the track listing: 1. The Straw That Broke the Camel's Back 2. Clean and Sober 3. Brightened Body 4. Made With Spoons 5. Jake It's only on cassette, but someday I'll get around to hooking up my old cassette player to my computer and making a digital version of it. I grew up in the south and this place has THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN and also CATFISH. Plus, they serve cornbread, instead of bread. A pleasant surprise in the middle of NYC. I have to say, I agree.
